Jean Marie Visser studied fashion in the seventies, and has always created with her sewing machine. Going back to study millinery in 1993, Jean launched her business of Jean Marie Millinery in 1994 with an exhibition of her hats in Braemar Gallery in Springwood. Along her journey, Jean has also studied Theatrical Millinery and Fine Needlework.
“I make hats, fascinators, race wear, wedding fascinators and hat boxes. I specialise in pure silk handmade flowers to match your wedding gown.”
Jean continues to study her craft to the present day and enjoys learning from other milliners at Millinery Conferences.
“I am also very fortunate to know a wonderful retired milliner (now aged 89). She has shared with me her wealth of knowledge and experience in flower–making as it used to be done. I have also inherited all her flower patterns and electric flower–making tools — invaluable equipment from a bygone era.”
Please contact Jean to discuss your millinery requirements and allow me make something exquisite for you.
